A team of otolaryngologists and audiologists from the University of Connecticut and Temple University sponsored through Gemini Health Care Group and Healing the Children, completed a medical mission to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in late October 2011.




Gemini Health Care Group’s Fourth Annual Fundraiser Gala was held at the Sheraton National Hotel in Alexandria, Virginia on Saturday September 24th, 2011. The Gala was a tremendous success, with over three hundred people from across the United States graced us with their presence.

Dr. Aziza Shad, the Director of Pediatric Oncology at Georgetown University, set the tone for the evening as the key note speaker, with an informative, eloquent and heartfelt presentation on the state of childhood cancer in Ethiopia. Dr. Shad is hopeful about the commencement of the pediatric cancer treatment, and training program by January 2012 at Black Lion hospital in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia through the collaboration of Georgetown University Department of Pediatrics and INCTR (International Cancer Treatment and Research), a non-profit organization which provides vitally needed cancer treatment, education and research for developing countries.
